Feelin' Crafty
This past week I've gotten a lot of crafting done while watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Of note are a purse I made for my grandmother's birthday in July and a summer hat.
The purse is cute and perfect for a small wallet, lipstick etc. It's made from cotton yarn so it's easy to wash, lined with a cute swirly red & white fabric and has a red and brown flower sewn on the outside. Granny always wears her red coat when she is dressing up and I'm sure she'll love to carry something new with it on special occasions.
I'm still working on plaiting a hat out of raffia, but when I saw this pattern in the latest Martha Stewart magazine, I had to make it right away.
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and I've already been commissioned to make one for my mom. Not the greatest images but you get the idea - reversible and very cute when worn.
