Wallpaper Series #1 (Set of 3 Cards)
When we moved into our house 10 years ago, the former owners left a lot of things behind. Of note were: wooden blocks for the wheels of their RV, various boards, a cat, tiles, pieces of laminate, unknown metal thingies in the shed and hanging basket holders. In the storage unit they left a roll of wallpaper which can't be found anywhere else in the house. I always liked the look of it (it reminds me of cherry blossoms), but it wasn't really enough for a house-type project. I've made a few things with it over the years and wrapped some presents with it too. A while ago I sat down with a chunk and made some cards - hence, the Wallpaper Series. There are some other wallpaper cards here and there in the store and there will be more to come.
Bee: Pink cardstock is cut decoratively on right edge. Pink flower cut from a child's old calendar sits atop found wallpaper, also decoratively cut. Buzzing bee is embossed on a piece of defunct paper airplane and is mounted on skeleton-leaf image from a cardboard tissue box.
Wallflower: Decoratively cut wallpaper is mounted on green cardstock and embellished with a red flower cut from a greeting card. Handmade paper with punched-out leaf accents the the left corner.
Potato Star: Violet card has rounded corners and is embellished with multiple decoratively-cut papers. Blue cardstock is recycled from a university manual, wallpaper is found and image of star and moon were potato-stamped. Found white ribbon rose peeks out of top right corner.
Each card comes with an ivory envelope (4 3/8" x 5 3/4"). These handcrafted cards are proudly made in Canada with recycled and new materials!
